Nineteen year old Sydney producer Thomas Purcell, known as Wave Racer, will be performing at The Roxy on September 18. He is known for his interesting use of synthesizers and mixing it together with 90s gaming system sounds. His debut four-track Wave Racer EP will be released on October 16 through Future Classic.
Wave Racer is touring in North America, starting at New York’s Electric Zoo festival in September and rolling through San Francisco, Los Angeles and Toronto before wrapping up in Atlanta. His first single release “Flash Drive” is his first in well over a year.
Taking cues from cross-continental club sounds and gold-plated production standards, Purcell’s blend of pixelated future-funk is fast taking Australia by storm. Be sure to check out Wave Racer when he brings the electro dance to the Roxy in September.
