Richard Hawley Announces New Album Hollow Meadows For September 2015 Release

British singer/songwriter Richard Hawley will be releasing his latest album, Hollow Meadows, on September 11th via Warner Bros. in the US and Parlophone in the U.K.

Hollow Meadows follows Hawley’s largely successful 2012 album, Standing At The Sky’s Edge. The name of the album itself is derived from Auley Meadows in his hometown of Sheffield, U.K. The new release is the result of demos created in Hawley’s own shed recording studio alongside Shez Sheridan and Colin Elliot. It was then recorded in Sheffield’s own Yellow Arch Studio last spring.

The final product is an 11-track album full of guest appearances by artists such as Nancy Kerr, Jarvis Cocker, and Martin Simpson. The sound of the new album is delicate, romantic, and sways naturally alongside what’s being called Hawley’s most impressive writing to date. The album also contains similar themes to Hawley’s other work, reminiscing on home, passing time in life, and mysticism.

Hawley’s increasing body of work is establishing him as one of the most successful and important artists in the U.K. right now. In 2012, he was nominated for British Mercury Prize for Standing At The Sky’s Edge. He’s also made music with the massively popular Arctic Monkeys. This year, his track “As The Dawn Breaks” was was covered by Ruby Amanfu in her own album, Standing Still. Check out the full track listing for Hawley’s upcoming album below.
