The New Orleans Rebirth Brass Band will be performing at the Santa Monica Pier on September 3 as part of the ongoing Summer Nights Festival shows presented by local radio station KCRW. The show is for all ages and free to the public. Also performing is Miles Mosley and the West Coast Get Down.
Rebirth Brass Band has shared the stage with Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Grateful Dead, The Meters, The P Funk All Stars, Maceo Parker, Dr. John, The Ohio Players, and Ani DiFranco. In 2011, Basin Street Records released the CD Rebirth of New Orleans, which reached number 1 on the CMJ Jazz charts and earned the group a 2012 Grammy Award for Best Regional Roots Music Album.

Also performing is Miles Mosley and the West Coast Get Down. Mosley was trained in classical music and jazz is force on the upright bass, incorporating effects pedals, his bow, his vocals and a horn section for his one-of-a-kind forward leaning solo projects.
He has performed, recorded, produced and toured with artists including Chris Cornell, Christina Aguilera, Sean King, Mos Def, India Arie, Lauryn Hill, Terrence Howard, Jonathan Davis of Korn, Avenged Sevenfold, Jason Mraz, Jeff Beck, Rihanna, and Cee Lo Green. Often touted as the ‘Jimi Hendrix of the upright bass’, Mosley is considered a ‘master musician and live performer.’
