Cold War Kids will be performing at the Annenberg Space for Photography on August 15 to close the Sound in Focus Concert series presented by KCRW. Openers Other Lives will be casting a spell with their layered, atmospheric orchestral rock. The evening will be hosted by KCRW Music Director and DJ Jason Bentley.
Cold War Kids are an indie rock and blues rock band from Long Beach, forming in 2004. It has released five studio albums to date, the latest being Hold My Home in October of last year. The album charted at #8 on both the US Billboard Top Alternative Albums and the US Billboard Independent Albums chart. The band has identified other major influences as Fiona Apple, Nick Cave, Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, The Smiths, U2, and Tom Waits.
The last show of the series will be for anyone who enjoys a raw, bluesy take on rock ‘n’ roll with an extra level of intensity when the Cold War Kids bring it to the stage. The Photography Space will stay open late on these evenings (until 11pm) so that the concertgoers may enjoy both the concerts and the exhibit. Don’t miss out on all the fun August 15.
