Brooklyn indie rock band TV on the Radio will be performing at the Annenberg Space for Photography on July 25 with Boxed In and a DJ set by Jason Bentley. The show will be the first of four shows at the Annenberg Space for Photography as part of the summer nights presented by KCRW. The event is free and for all ages.
TV on the Radio has released five albums, the most recent being Seeds, which was released on November of last year. The band currently consists of Tunde Adebimpe, Kyp Malone, David Andrew Sitek, and Jaleel Bunton. The band has stated that their style of music has emerged from its interest in diverse artists, such as Bad Brains, Earth, Wind & Fire, Nancy Sinatra, Serge Gainsbourg, Brian Eno and the Pixies.
The concert series is titled “Sound in Focus,” which is inspired by the Annenberg’s current exhibition, “Emerging.” The concerts will take place in the park adjacent to the Annenberg Space for Photography and it will stay open late during the Saturdays of the concerts (until 11 p.m.) so that the concertgoers can enjoy both the concerts and the exhibit. There will be food and refreshments available for purchase from a wide variety of cafes and food trucks that can be enjoyed. There will also be beer gardens for those 21 and over to enjoy, so be sure to check It out!
