Noah Benjamin Lennox aka Panda Bear, Animal Collective co-founding member and solo artist, has unveiled a new video off his latest album Panda Bear Meets The Grim Reaper for the song “Tropic of Cancer.”
According to Consequence of Sound, the video, as smooth and unhurried as the song itself, was directed by fellow Animal Collective band member Dave Portner, aka Avey Tare. Even the angry German shepherd hunting the family dressed as panda bears can’t shake up the overall calming background of the new clip.
In a press release, Avey Tare spoke about his work on the visual:
”It’s always been in the spirit of Animal Collective to want to collaborate in many artistic ways with each other. Having been a fan of Noah’s music since we were teenagers, it’s sweet to finally be able to collaborate with him on something other than just making sounds and songs. I also am thankful to get my first shot at making something a little more long running in the visual/video world. This is one of my favorite songs on the record, hence my being involved with it. I’m grateful and excited to have worked on every moment of it and to have worked with all the sweet people who helped me put it together.”
Recently announced as a performer at the Lightning In A Bottle 2015 festival, Panda Bear released the video for “Tropic of Cancer” as a follow-up to the video for the album’s first single “Boys Latin.” Click “Play” below and enjoy.
