Tove Styrke @ Underground Arts 5/5

Rising Swedish pop star, Tove Styrke is currently making waves at SXSW. After the festival, she’ll perform in Europe throughout April before heading back to the US this May for a headlining tour across North America. Tove Stykre will take the stage here in Philly on May 5th, performing at Underground Arts.

The young singer/songwriter got her start on Swedish Idol, when she placed third on the competition show back in 2009. She released her debut album the following year and in 2011, The New York Post listed Tove Styrke among their 10 Artists to Know. Her debut self-titled release peaked at #10 and spent 35 weeks on the top charts in her native Sweden.

In May of last year, Tove Styrke released her follow up single, “Even If I’m Loud Doesn’t Mean I’m Talking to You.” And in October of the same year she released her newest single, “Borderline,” which would be the first from her EP of the same name. And with that, it seemed the young artist was finally poised for international recognition. She released her Borderline EP in November of last year and she plans to release her first US album, Kiddo, this spring. Catch her this May when she takes the stage at Underground Arts.
