Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Inductees Announced Including Lou Reed, Joan Jett And Green Day

The 2015 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees have been announced, and the list included Green Day, who are in their first year of eligibility for the honor.

The inductees include Lou Reed, Stevie Ray Vaughn and the Double Trouble, Green Day, the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Bill Withers and Joan Jett. In addition, Ringo Starr will be receiving a special Award for Musical Excellence, while 1950s R&B group The “5” Royales will be getting the Early Influence Award.

Nominees who didn’t make the cut for 2015 include Chic, Kraftwerk, N.W.A., The Smiths, The Spinners, The Marvelettes, Sting and War. Nine Inch Nails was also nominated in their first year of eligibility and took second place in the fan poll, though they didn’t end up on the induction list.

The induction ceremony will take place on April 18, 2015, in Cleveland. According to Antiquiet, there is no word on when it will air on TV. The event is public, and tickets go on sale this Thursday, December 18.
