To celebrate KGSRs 24th Anniversary, Spoon, St. Paul & the Broken Bones, and James Bay will be performing at ACL Live. Spoon is a American rock band that formed right here in Austin, Texas! The band is composed of Britt Daniel (vocals, guitar), Jim Eno (drums), Rob Pope (bass guitar, guitar, keyboards, backup vocals), Eric Harvey (keyboard, guitar, percussion, backup vocals), and Alex Fischel (keyboard, guitar).
Spoon’s most well known works are “I Turn My Camera On” and “The Underdog.” “I Turn My Camera On” is off of their 2005 album, Gimme Fiction, which debuted at number 44 on the Billboard 200. The album sold more than 16,000 copies. In 2010 the band took a break in their music career before releasing their most recent album.
Spoon’s most recent album, They Want My Soul, was released in early August. The Magazine, Under the Radar, commented on the release of the album, “Despite the band’s four-year vacation, They Want My Soul doesn’t tread much fresh ground. Essentially, this is Spoon as Spoon has always been. While it’s sonically nothing new, what Spoon offers is still infinitely more polished than the work of any of their contemporaries.” The album is well known for it’s singles “Rent I Pay,” “Inside Out,” and “Do You.”
