Patti Smith seems to never tire proving her versatility.
Having conquered the world with punk rock phenomenon up to being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007, Patti has also appeared to be a talented lullaby writer, adding her part to Darren Aronofsky newest movie ‘Noah’ with the song ‘Mercy Is’, recorded with The Kronos Quartet, which was featured in the film. Furthermore, the song is reported by brooklynvegan.com to be Smith’s first original song written for the screen.
Now, the movie that came out earlier this year will again be screened in NYC’s Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria on November 17, where both Patti and Darren will talk about the film and their collaboration following a screening of the movie.
Patti Smith will also perform an a cappella version of her song “Mercy Is,” which is featured in the film, according to dnainfo.com.
The tickets go on sale today at noon and are available here.
Also, listen to ‘Mercy Is’ below, followed by ‘Noah’ film footage. A good publicity for the upcoming event, one would say.
