A brand new hip-hop festival has been planned by none other than Common himself. It will be a one-day only performance taking place in none other than Common’s hometown of Chicago, and it looks to be a killer festival.
As of late, there has been a serious debate among fans of the hip-hop genre whether or not hip-hop festivals have become obsolete. Regardless of where one may stand on the issue, Common’s recently announced AAHH! Fest promises to put the naysayers to shame. Hosted by none other than Dave Chappelle, the festival will feature other well-known hip-hop acts, such as Lupe Fiasco, De La Soul, and Jay Electronica, in addition to Common himself. In addition to the various performances, there will also be a community arts show, featuring Diggy Simmons and arranged by fellow Chicago native Rhymefest. There will also be a “surprise” guest that will be making an appearance who has yet to be announced. This is sure to be a one of a kind festival that will bring hip-hop fans from all over the country to the legendary city of Chicago.
