Presented by eco-enthusiasts Sweetgreen, the Sweetlife Festival will incorporate radical music and sustainability in a fresh new way. The Event is scheduled for Saturday, April 30th at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland. This festival will be revolutionary for it’s eco-friendly and sustainability practices.
As for the Strokes, their appearance at the Sweetlife festival will be their only appearance in the mid-atlantic region of the country during their upcoming tour. The band will be performing track off of their soon to be released album, Angles, which is their first album in five years.
The festival is the real headline here. The producers’ incredible mission to create an eco-friendly festival is begining to take shape.There will be a farmer’s market on site along with the usual sweetgreen concessions. The festival producers are also working with local energy partners to ensure that the party will leave no carbon footprint. Other Exhibits include an interactive demonstration of channeling human energy.
A portion of the proceeds will go to celebrity Chef Jamie Oliver’s foundation, created to raise money for the purpose of ending obesity and passing on good eating habits and cooking techniques.
