Run The Jewels have followed up their much talked about main stage Coachella performance this weekend with the release of the official video for “Love Again (feat. Gangsta Boo),” from their acclaimed sophomore effort, Run The Jewels 2.
The Ninian Doff-directed clip pairs some really stunning high definition footage of butterflies and bumblebees engaging in colorful floral pollination alongside Killer Mike, El-P’s rhymes, and Gangsta Boo’s playful and provocative sexual lyricism. The track is really good on it’s own, but the visuals take it to the next level. The color and details that Ninian Doff gives us not only pair perfectly with the song, but could definitely stand alone.
Run the Jewels was in the news last weekend when they were introduced to the Coachella masses by Bernie Sanders via a pre-recorded video.
The group has been very busy in terms of artistic ventures lately, the group once again participated in Record Store Day, releasing a new vinyl edition of RTJ2. The group will be releasing an Art the Jewels virtual art gallery this spring with additional VR content to follow via their forthcoming VRTJ app, and also have a 7-camera VR shoot of their Coachella weekend 1 set in production.
Run the Jewels will be back at Coachella this weekend, with more surprise guests after a set last week that featured Gary Clark Jr., DJ Shadow, legendary rapper Nas, BOOTS, Gangsta Boo, and Despot. They will also give fans a live broadcast of their set on YouTube’s new live 360 streaming capability, after which they return to the studio to complete their eagerly anticipated 3rd album, RTJ3, due out this Fall.
