Autolux has just released their new single: “Brainwasher” produced by Boots, in advance of their upcoming LP: Pussy’s Dead. The album will be released on April 1st via Danger Mouse’s all new 30th Century Records.
“Brainwasher” is said to encompass everything that makes Autolux unique, combining rock, electronic, jazz, funk and pop sounds. They found their match when producer Boots, who has collaborate with artists such as Beyonce and Run the Jewels agreed to help with the entire album. He was so dedicated to working with them on Pussy’s Dead that he acted almost as a fourth band member, filling in wherever need be, reported Stereogum. The band dropped another Boots produced track back in November called “Soft Scenes” and more recently “Change My Head” that will be featured on the upcoming album as well. Boots has just produced an independent album with band member and drummer Carla Azar called AQUARIA for her debut as a solo artist.
“Brainwasher” is like an out of body or out of this world experience, as the sounds compare to what you might hear during a hallucination or while in outer space. The artwork in the video, done by Thomas McMahan is a perfect pairing.
Autolux got together in 2001 and has kept it’s three original members since day one. They are lead-vocalist/bassist Eugene Goreshter, Guitarist/backing vocalist Greg Edwards, and Drummer/backing vocalist Carla Azar.
The LP will have ten tracks and feature artwork from Australian artist, Anthony Lister.
