Yet another track has been released off of PJ Harvey’s forthcoming album The Hope Six Demolition Project titled “The Community Hope.”
PJ Harvey, who is currently on tour, has just announced new dates for her 2016 tour, five new dates to be exact. The tour has her participating in a couple festivals, such as Primavera Sound. The tour starts in about three months at the Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona and wraps up with a show in Iceland at the Iceland Airwaves in Reykjavik. The A full list of the dates can be found below.
If the tour dates weren’t enough, Harvey released a new song titled “The Community of Hope” that is a part of her new studio album. The track will be the forthcoming album’s opening song and it is the perfect spring board to a great album, also holds a direct reference to the title of the album. The track can be viewed below. The Hope Six Demolition Project is set for an April 15 of this year release date. The album will also include the before released track “The Wheel.” The track list for the new album can be found below.
The song takes its title from a U.S. Department of Houseing And Urban Development plan to revitalize public housing. The lyrics to the track are a pretty clear example as to how PJ Harvey felt about the plan. The lyrics are below. While the song still holds the signature sound that all PJ Harvey fans are looking for it’s the message behind the track that makes it special.
“Here’s the Hope Six Demolition Project/ Switching down the Benning Road,” she sings. “The well-known ‘pathway of death’/ At least that’s what I’m told/ And here’s the one sit-down restaurant/ In Ward Seven, nice/ OK, now this is just drug town, just zombies/ But that’s just life.”
