Roskilde Festival has announced its 2016 lineup of artists, including long time active and famous artists like New Order as well as modern psychedelic rock champions Tame Impala.
The festival is Northern Europe’s largest cultural and music festival and has been around since 1971. Roskilde is run by the Roskilde Festival Charity Society, a non-profit organization consisting of about fifty full-time employees and thousands of additional volunteers. According to the festival’s website, the society exists to “support initiatives benefitting children and young people and to support humanitarian and cultural work. The society’s work is independent of party politics and has no geographical borders.” During the festival itself, about 32,000 volunteers collaborate to staff the festival stalls, setup stages and provide security.
The massive festival will take place between June 25 and July 2 and features eight stages with a whopping 175 acts playing them. Additionally, there are several hands-on art exhibits at the festival, allowing fans to experience many unique forms of art in addition to music.
Tickets are available on the Roskilde Festival website.
