Kentucky-born singer, songwriter and producer Chris Stapleton will be performing at the El Rey Theatre on November 16 to promote his debut solo album Traveller released in May this year. The album debuted on the Top Country Albums chart at #2 and the Billboard 200 at # 14, selling 27,000 copies in the week ending May 10. The album has sold 88,000 copies as of September 2015.
Stapleton is one of Nashville’s most revered craftsmen, with a 15-year career that includes #1 hits, Grammy Award nominations and feature film contributions. He earned this respect in numerous recording and on stage as a touring headliner and opener for popular acts in the country genre. As a songwriter, over 150 of his songs have appeared on albums by such artists as Adele, Luke Bryan, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley and Dierks Bentley. He has co-written with notable artists like Vince Gill, Peter Frampton and Sheryl Crow.
Stapleton has written songs for George Strait, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Darius Rucker and Josh Turner and contributed cuts to several major motion picture soundtracks. He’s also been nominated for three Grammy Awards and won the International Bluegrass Music Association Emerging Artist of the Year award as a member of The SteelDrivers.
