Courtney Barnett’s new single will be coming out this November with the help of musician Jack White. Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit will include songs “Boxing Day Blues (revisited)” and “Shivers” which is a cover of the band Boys Next Door.
Jack White’s Third Man Records is working on it’s Blue Series and Barnett’s new single fits the bill. The Blue Series is a works in progress where musicians and the like are invited up to Jack White’s recording studio to make a single and then it is promptly promoted and pressed onto the internet via iTunes. Barnett has done her share of covers and singles, ranging from Breeders to John Cale as well as collaborating with the Lemonhead’s Evan Dando.
Courtney Barnett will also perform at Madison Square Garden and The Hollywood Bowl where Barnett is the opening act for the band Blur. Barnett has also announced some tour dates following the release of the single Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit. Courtney was also performing in shows like Pemberton and Newport Folk Fest, NPR Music, The Onion &A.V. Club.
Courtney Barnett’s LP will come out as special releases. The first option is a boxed set. Fans can receive the singles as well as two other songs “History Eraser” and John Cale’s “Close Watch,” a poster of the album artwork, and four personal photographs taken by Courtney Barnett herself. The second option includes the LP on yellow vinyl with everything included in the first optional package. The third option is a digital version of the Barnett’s new LP. All version of the LP come out this November along with some tour dates for next year that Barnett has already posted.
