Matt Berninger‘s side project The National will have a benefit show at the Troubadour on October 16 in support of Cooperative for Education’s efforts to improve the education of girls in Guatemala. Matt Berninger and Menomena’s Brent Knopf already has two sold out shows at the Troubadour in November in support of debut album Return to the Moon.
The lyrics behind The National are written and sung by Matt Berninger while the band’s music is composed and performed by Aaron Dessner (guitar and keyboard), Bryce Dessner (guitar), Scott Devendorf (bass) and Bryan Devendorf (drums). The band has recorded six studio albums. The most recent, Trouble Will Find Me, was released in May 2013 and was nominated in the 2014 Grammys for Best Alternative Album.
