Hip-hop mogul Suge Knight and comedian Katt Williams have both been served with a lawsuit that alleges that the two men threatened and assaulted a photographer in 2014.
The lawsuit specifically alleges that Knight and Williams assaulted photographer Leslie Redden on September 5, 2014, outside of Beverly Hills’ FilmOne Studios. According to Rolling Stone, the suit claims that Knight accused Redden of taking photos of himself and his son, then began to threaten her. Knight allegedly called Redden a “bitch” repeatedly, as well as telling her he had a “bitch to come beat your motherfucking ass.”
According to the lawsuit, Redden had not been taking photos of Knight and his son at the time, and tried to flee when confronted, but was then stopped by Williams and another woman. The woman, who may be Williams’ girlfriend, allegedly knocked Redden to the ground. At that point, Williams allegedly yelled at Redden to delete the photos, then took her camera from her by force.
Knight and Williams were arrested last October following the incident, with each of them being charged with a count of robbery. Redden’s lawsuit claims that she has “severe injuries to her neck, back, fingers, wrist, and other parts of her body,” due to the incident, and that it caused her “great emotional pain and suffering as well as probable neurological and cognitive problems.”
Knight has already been in legal trouble after he was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run in Compton in January and is officially standing trial for murder charges. There is video footage of the incident but Knight’s lawyer is now requesting a dismissal of the charges due to lack of evidence. Knight, along with Ice Cube and Dr. Dre, is also involved in a lawsuit pertaining to the murder.
