The Foo Fighters will be performing at The Forum on September 22, promoting its latest album Sonic Highways, which was released last year. Grohl formed the group as a one-man project after the his previous band Nirvana dissolved in 1994, and it currently consists of Dave Grohl, Pat Smear, Nate Mendel, Taylor Hawkins and Chris Shiflett.
The 2014 album Sonic Highways debuted at number two on the Billboard 200. Grohl traveled to eight cities across the United States and used the trips as inspiration for the song’s lyrics. The band and producer Butch Vig then traveled to a different recording location in each city to record the songs.
Over the course of the band’s career, three of its albums have won Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album, and all six have been nominated for Grammys. The band’s seventh album Wasting Light was released in 2011 and peaked at #1 in several countries. Be sure to catch the Foo Fighters as they play at The Forum in September.
