Japanese rock band Boris revealed their North American tour dates where the group will perform their acclaimed 1998 album Amplifier Worship in its entirety. The Amplifier Worship Service tour includes a stop at Los Angeles’ Belasco Theatre on Thursday, September 26 with special guest Starcrawler.
Boris kicks off their upcoming fall tour on September 25 in San Diego, CA and wraps up on November 3 in Tempe, AZ. The 31-date run includes stops in cities such as Portland, Seattle, Detroit, and more. The band will have “two drummers and an extended backline.” Support on all dates comes from Starcrawler, a band that Boris has praised before.
Boris formed in 1992 and eventually arrived at the band’s current lineup of Takeshi, Wata, and Atsuo in 1996. In the years since, Boris has tirelessly explored their own rendition of what is heavy through methods entirely their own. Though the depths of their “heaviness” may intensify, their unique musicianship defies classification in any one genre or style. Their music has been called a “game changer” regarding the leading edge of the world’s rock scene, and that influence is limitless. They enter realms that cannot be described simply in terms of the “explosive sound” or “thunderous roars” that have become their trademark. From Tokyo underground, Boris has made a mark in rock, the group even co-headlined with their greatest influence, Melvins, in 2023.
