Cue pregnancy jokes. Surviving Nirvana bandmates deliver a teaser-trailer for a reissue of their classic In Utero, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this Fall.
The last-born component of the Nirvana trilogy, In Utero was the follow-up to crowning glory Nevermind, which had its own anniversary re-release back in 2011. In Utero saw the band thumbing their noses at commercial success, conceiving the record in jeering impudence, thereby preventing it from matching the sales figures of Nevermind. Nevertheless, it earned significant critical and commercial success, going platinum five times and rising to No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200. To promote the reissue, which is due for September, the surviving band members resurrected a 1993 TV promo featuring dress-clad comedian Bobcat Goldthwait coaching bandmates Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic, and Dave Grohl as they birth babies in projectile fashion.
