Ottto performed a record release show Monday night in honor of their debut album Life is a Game. The PCH-based band performed at Los Angeles’ The Echo with special guests Dewwy and White Jagg.
Just days following the release of their debut album Life is a Game, officially made available on March 24, 2023, Ottto performed their West Coast record release show. Friends, family and fans gathered to rock with the thrash metal band at LA’s intimate venue The Echo. Following the performances of friends Dewwy and White Jagg, whom also live debuted several singles, Ottto took the stage by storm.
Just moments within taking the stage, Ottto sparked up the energy resulting in a White Jagg member running up the stage to momentarily join the band on vocals mid-opening song. Ottto continued to perform several songs from their first album including “Skyscraper,” “Ride Low,” “The Void,” and “Trip.” The band also performed the track “Scopa” which is dedicated to a long-time friend and his restaurant in Venice with the same name.
Ottto’s Monday night performance was incredible for a lack of better words. The aggressiveness and passionate thrash metal, which ignited several mosh pits throughout the night, only scratches the surface of what this band has to offer. The shredding guitar solos, the heavy killer bass, the emphatic rhythm of the drums, a true trifecta topped off by poetic misery lyrics. Every single track performed was immensely energizing, its something one needs to experience live.
Ottto is Bryan Noah Ferretti (vocals and guitar), Tye Trujillo (bass) and Patrick “Triko” Chavez (drums). The band pulls influences from 80s hair bands, heavy metal, psychedelic, thrash, and more. Several songs are driven by the pulsing low end bass by Trujillo, which only seems fit as he is the son of Metallica’s bassist Robert Trujillo after all.
The band recently performed at Lollapalooza in Santiago, Chile alongside prominent artists such as Billie Eilish, Twenty One Pilots, Tame Impala, and many more. The band has a couple of performances already lined up such as the special appearances at the Rockville Festival in Florida and the Sonic Temple Festival in Ohio this May. With just one studio album and one EP under their belts, Ottto will be performing among some of the biggest names in rock such as Slipknot, Tool, Godsmack, Rob Zombie, and many more.
With just a bit more crowd engagement and more live performances who knows what’s to come from this new metal band, hopefully this is just the beginning for an unimaginable journey. For more information on Ottto or to keep up on future tour dates visit otttoband.com.
