The all-star stadium tour featuring veteran rock acts Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, Poison, and Joan Jett was one piece short until last night. Two weeks prior to the kickoff in Atlanta, Tommy Lee of Mötley Crüe broke his ribs, following which his availability for the upcoming dates became uncertain. On Tuesday (June 28), he played his first complete set during a show in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Prior to that, he had only been able to play the first few songs at each performance, having Ozzy Osbourne drummer Tommy Clufetos take over afterward. It appears that Lee is steadily recovering as he was able to play the entirety of a 15-song set with his band. Watch footage from last night’s performance below:
“I wish I had a fuckin’ badass story like me and Connor McGregor fuckin’ scrapping out in some fuckin’ bar or something, but I don’t,” Lee had joked to the audience at the first show of the tour on June 16. According to Consequence, the drummer’s wife subsequently revealed that he had fallen down the stairs while trying to carry luggage at a rental home in Nashville.
The tour continues this Thursday in Nashville and carries through to September.
