King Woman announced three NYC shows at Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus Bar on Friday, October 15th, Saturday, October 17th, and Sunday, October 18th. Tickets to the first two of these 21+ shows are sold out, but tickets to the October 17th show are available on Dice.fm, and cost $24.55. The shows begin at 8:00PM, with doors opening an hour earlier at 7:00PM.
The October 15th show will feature an appearance by Brooklyn-based noise musician Dreamcrusher, whose live shows are praised for their experimental and transformative nature.
On October 16th King Woman will be joined by Confines, a heavy electronic band from NYC, and Octonomy, the stage name of Brooklyn-based artist Heidi Lorenz, who describes herself as a “warehouse Enya” — a fitting name to describe her post-punk shoegaze sound.
The final show on October 17th will showcase ethereal musician Ethel Cain, and rock group Reduction Plan.
King Woman was founded in 2009 by lead vocalist Kristina Esfandiari, one of the leading figures of modern shoegaze and doom-metal. The bands 2017 album, Created in the Image of Suffering, made Pitchforks “10 Best Metal Albums of 2017” list, and was the subject of praise from both fans and critics. Their highly anticipated second album, Celestial Blues, will be released on July 30th.
The Saint Vitus shows are part of the bands 2021 tour, which also features shows in Los Angeles and Oakland.
These shows are at one of Brooklyn’s most iconic underground venues and are selling out fast so if you’re interested in seeing King Woman in concert you should get tickets soon.
