We all saw Drive. We all remember the grisly violence, the taut, moody ambience and, of course, Ryan Gosling’s biceps rippling in that oh-so-tight white T. Ahem.
That being said, we can’t forget the other main standout of the film: its soundtrack. (What, you didn’t actually think I was going to say Gosling’s abs didn’t you??) With a minimalistic yet mesmerizing electronic score mainly composed by former Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Cliff Martinez, the soundtrack also includes a couple of ethereal tracks from electro artists such as Kavinsky, College and Desire. If you can’t get enough of synth-y melodies and the Drive soundtrack in general, you’re in luck: IHEARTCOMIX and the Echo are teaming up to present…The Drive Tour. Yes, you read that right – your obsession with the song “A Real Hero” has manifested itself into live show: College and Electric Youth will be performing together, along with Anoraak (who wasn’t actually featured on the soundtrack but fits right in musically) at the Echoplex on August 5.
I’d go get those scorpions embroidered, stat.
