The new track “Shimmered” is an instrumental meditative piece that El Ten Eleven has released today. El Ten Eleven will be releasing their full length album Tautology III that will be released on September 18.
“Shimmered” is an ethereal track that provides a calm experience for listeners. This new single is an extension of their song “Shimmer” from their Tautology II that is a part of their series, and their newest album will be the third installment. According to the press release, Kristian Dunn from the group explains, “If you listen closely you’ll hear that the slide melody in both songs is the same. Like the full records II and III themselves, these songs represent middle age and old age. At 3:45 I purposely set the delay (echo) for those high bass chords to be off a bit. To me it’s a representation of being off a bit in old age but still really beautiful.”
The six minute and twenty-one second song has created a safe space for listeners to come into a meditative state. According to the press release Dunn continues to explain that he has noticed a change in his father’s behaviors that, “he doesn’t really get in bad moods any longer.” This testimony speaks to the meditative aesthetic of the song. El Ten Eleven describes the series of albums as the journey through adolescence to end of life.
The first installment of the albums was released in May after their announcement of the trio album in April. The group released the single “With Report” for the promotion of part I of Tautology.
