Ladytron shares the second single from their upcoming album, “The Island,” a day ahead of its release. The euphoric synth-pop song opens with a meditation on desolation. “These past two years, during which we’ve been making this record, have been an accelerating turmoil, traumatic for everyone,” Helen Marnie explains. “I think only by confronting and embracing this reality do we stand a chance of getting beyond it”.
This past March, Ladytron returned to the music scene to critical acclaim after a seven-year hiatus with their first single, “The Animals”. “The Island” is released on August 17.
The additional track “Tropic of Capricorn” will also be released exclusively with “The Island” via digital and on the seven inch vinyl available for pre-order from Pledge Music.
The electro-pop band Ladytron founded in 1999 in Liverpool comes back after a seven-year break in 2018 with the announcement of a new album led by singles “The Animals” and “The Island.” Known for their innovative and experimental sound, Helen Marnie, Daniel Hunt, Mira Aroyo and Reuben Wu are now back in the studio after various solo projects and other musical collaborations.
