The Baltimore dream pop band Beach House released a video for its song “Lemon Glow” on Thursday. One might expect a song titled after a fruit and light effect to have more color than the given illusory checkered pattern, but it’s just as well. A moving pattern as simple as a chessboard twists and turns and collapses on itself along with the song that casually moves from beginning to end seemingly in tandem with the visuals. The ethereal combination of the song and visuals will make you space out for about four minutes.

Alex Scally and Victoria Legrand formed Beach House in 2014. They’ve released five albums, the first of which received acclaim from critics and fans. Their second album, Devotion, came out four years later in 2008, just squeaking onto Billboard’s 200 at #195.

The group plans to release a new album this spring, of which “Lemon Glow” is the first single. “Wishing everyone out there love tonight,” they wrote on their Instagram page after releasing the song. Listen to it below.
