Music fans are gearing up for another monumental holiday spending spree now that the full list of special edition releases for Record Store Day Black Friday has been announced. As has been the case in recent years, Black Friday has become a day where independent record stores sell a multitude of reissued recordings that artists have released in limited quantities.

The rarest finds for this year appear to be a series of posthumous releases from the likes of Dimebag Darrell, Waylon Jennings, and Chris Cornell among many others. Dimebag will be featured on a special edition EP The Hitz which will feature recordings from the guitarist’s archives while a brand new Waylon Jennings album entitled New Stuff will also be coming out. Jenning’s son Shooter was going through his father’s belongings and uncovered a cassette tape labeled “new stuff” which contained a series of new songs that his father had intended to release on a new album before his death.

The mythical Chris Cornell Cliff Poncier EP will also be getting a special release, the first time the EP will be made available to the public as a single cassette purchase (it appeared on the expanded edition of the Singles soundtrack and as a special release for Record Store Day 2015). When Cameron Crowe was making his legendary 1992 film Singles, which depicted the Seattle grunge scene he had originally intended to cast Cornell as one of the leads, musician Cliff Poncier. Cornell was unable to accept the role but instead crafted a five song EP for Crowe, with one of the songs ending up in Singles.

Other notable releases for Black Friday include a new EP from At the Drive-In, a 40^th-anniversary reissue of the classic Richard Hell & the Voidoids Blank Generation, and a two-LP edition of Sublime’s debut album 40oz to Freedom.
