Queens of the Stone Age have taken to social media to give little hints of work toward their unreleased new album. They posted several elusive photos to their twitter page of their gear, instruments and what seems to be a possible tracklist to the new album in the studio. All the twitter posts can be found below with the antagonizing captions that read “…”
According to NME, The long awaited follow-up to 2013’s release, …Like Clockwork’ , has been in the works for some time and QOTSA had finally “locked in” to finish it last summer. The band has already indicated that the finished album is set to be released sometime this year.
Mastodon’s Troy Sanders said, in an article by NME, that QOTSA are finished with the album and will take the material on a world tour. Sanders forms part of the new super group Gone Is Gone consisting of QOTSA guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen, At the Drive-In drummer Tony Hajjar, and multi-instrumentalist Mike Zarin
“Queens of the Stone Age, Mastodon and At the Drive-In have all been recording,” he said, “and we all have new records coming out this year.”
The band has also used their social media voice to add a post about Trump, a week ago, that illustrates the band’s stance on the President quite vividly. With the caption to the post reading, “This man is a shallow, inept, multi-bankrupt declaring, narcissistic, narrow minded, out of touch, objectifying, barf inducing, fascist, clown penis… who also happens to be re-stup-redicu-lame.”
They then go on to add a quote by Edmund Burke to their caption that gives reason to why they have spoken out so forcfully against the new elect saying, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
