This year the world witnessed one of the most iconic singer/songwriters of the past few decades, Prince. Just when you thought you’ve heard all the Prince songs imaginable, a bombshell has been dropped. Prince left behind a solid collection of songs that never made it out to the public. Now, an unreleased song from 1982 called “Moonbeam Levels” has just dropped and you’ve got to listen to it. The song is one of several, from a greatest hits album called Prince4Ever.
The song was aired for the first time on ABC News, and the video shows a group of avid Prince fans gathered together on sofas to grovel in the joyous moment of hearing new Prince music. The song is theatric and an instant classic– a reflection of the late singers flamboyant personality. The Prince4Ever album was released on Nov. 22, where you will find “Moonbeam” and 39 more unreleased songs. Make sure to snag yourself a copy for hours and hours of binge listening to your favorite artist.
In recent news, Jay Z offered to buy the rights to all of Prince’s unreleased music and was essentially granted permission under certain conditions. However, the Prince estate is now suing Jay-Z for illegally streaming the music on Tidal. The lawsuit notes how they indeed granted ownsership of the music to Jay-Z, but did so for a limited amount of time. Click here to get the full story.
