Trentemoller Joins Forces With The Raveonettes’ Sune Wagner For New Single “Your Love Walks Alone”

Danish artist Trentemøller has teamed up with The Raveonettes singer Sune Wagner for his latest single, “Your Love Walks Alone,” released today. Coming off Trentemøller’s upcoming self-titled eight studio album, “Your Love Walks Alone” is described as a gothy torch song built from layers of industrial-sized fuzz. A video was released for the track, which can be found on Trentemøller and In My Room Recording’s channels.

The video – which opens with some harsh colors and flashing lights – has a unique heavily saturated animation style to it, done by animator DACU. The lyrics are coated in a dreamlike echo over the electronic and industrial sound of the instrumentals, containing hazy synths and booming drums.  Describing the track, Wagner said, “A depiction of pure love slowly winding down and how it affects you in those moments where you realize you’re being ‘replaced.”

“Ever since Sune sang on my track ‘Deceive,’ we’d been talking about doing another song together,” said Trentemøller about the collaboration. “This time I had an instrumental that felt right for his voice, so I sent it over. He loved it, and pretty quickly came back with that great vocal that’s unmistakably Sune / The Raveonettes. With ‘Your Love Walks Alone,’ I feel like he hit the mood of the music perfectly. What I love is how the vocal melody is kind of ‘happy,’ while the lyrics are actually pretty dark. It makes for a good contrast against the more brooding, insistent sound underneath.”

Trentemøller’s new album will be out November 13th.

Steven Taylor: Hello, I'm Steven! I'm a graduate of Seton Hall University. I majored in journalism, with a minor in Public Relations. I've always had a passion for the arts and creative fields. Writing especially is an area I've always found myself gravitating towards, between assignments in class, working for the school newspaper or just writing in my spare time. I love providing and hearing new perspectives. In addition to my studies and work in writing, I work part-time at after-school and summer programs for my local elementary school. I've been a part of these programs since I was in high school, and I've even been assigned to work one-to-one with children with special needs. I like to think that if I'm able to communicate well with children in the 2nd grade, then I can communicate well with most adults too!
