Last night, Hayley Williams returned home to Mississippi for the final American date of the “Hayley Williams Show tour.” Recently in Los Angeles, Williams brought out Zedd for a performance of “Stay The Night”. Williams’ special guests last night were KIRBY and Big K.R.I.T. The trio performed “Miss Black America”. “An extremely cool song about Southern Black pride,” as Stereogum put it.
The sight of the three Mississippi born artists sharing the stage radiates total synergy as they dance along and adlib each other. Williams and Big K.R.I.T. are both from Meridian while KIRBY hails from Southaven. KIRBY and Big K.R.I.T. teamed up for “Miss Black America” last year, when it was released in August. The artists used the finale of the tour as a great opportunity to spotlight their Southern heritage and celebrate the regions Black musical identity.
