On October 5th, Kacey Musgraves released a Spanish version of her song “Uncertain, TX”. The country queen teamed up with the renowned Música Mexicana group, Intocable.
The song opens with slide guitar and accordion, classics in country music and in Música Mexicana. Musgraves Spanish vocals are very well reverbed on this re-record and the accents of the acoustic guitar in the background make for a very cozy atmosphere. There’s a lot of color in this remake and the vocals really tie everything together. The original studio version of this song is included on Musgraves album, Middle of Nowhere. Her album was originally released on May 1st, 2026 under Lost Highway Records and has been nominated for the Country Music Association Award for Album of the Year.
Rolling Stone tells us that this isn’t the first time Musgraves has used music to demolish language barriers. She released “Lost in Translation”, a norteño-influenced ranchera track featuring English and Spanish. Although the lyrical component of music can vary, the language of sound is something universal.
As Consequence reports, Musgraves continues to dabble with different elements in her music, such as influences from Norteño, Tejano, Zydeco, bluegrass, and pop alongside traditional country music. We recently reported on Kacey Musgraves paying tribute to the late Dolly Parton. Musgraves covered Parton’s 1977 song, “Here You Come Again”.
