October 3rd saw Shakira continuing her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran world tour. While playing a residency at the Spanish capital, Shakira brought out Dua Lipa as a guest performer in Madrid, where they performed a duet of “Antología”.
NME reports that the show began as usual. Shakira opened the show with “La fuerte”, Black Eyed Peas’ “GIRL LIKE ME”, “Las de la intuición / Estoy Aquí”, followed by hits such as “Hips Don’t Lie” and “She Wolf”. Shakira shares some words of admiration as Dua Lipa enters the stage… and the crowd goes wild! As the two share some words before the performance, the chemistry can really be felt. Dua Lipa begins the song, Shakira takes some lines after, followed by the crowd taking over and creating a very unique atmosphere.
NME also tells us Dua Lipa had covered the song when she was playing in Bogotá, Colombia back in November. The artists’ mutual respect through the sharing of a song and a stage displays wonderfully how music can connect people in unimaginable ways.
We last covered Dua Lipa in September, when rumors about potential performers for Coachella 2027 began rearing their heads online. A music industry publication titled Hits Daily Double had stated Dua Lipa as one of the names expected to headline the festival. Shakira recently hit our feed when she had donated $1.25 million to rebuild schools in Colombia after an earthquake devastated the Chocó region. $500,000 came from Shakira herself. As Shakira’s tour continues, make sure to stay tuned for further coverage.
