According to NME.com, Ray LaMontagne has been treated after collapsing on stage in Nashville.The folk singer-songwriter was performing at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on September 5, when he collapsed on stage,which made the show to end early. The incident occurred midway through a performance of his song, “Jolene” and the fan-filmed footage shows the artist falling backwards before hitting the ground. Members of his team rushed to assist LaMontagne and then, he was helped from the stage and the concert ended early.

Earlier in the set, LaMontagne stopped twice during a rendition of  “Hannah” after losing his place. He then apologized to the crowd before moving on. Later on, he briefly left the stage before returning to begin “Jolene”. LaMontagne’s management have said that he is being treated for heat-related dehydration and is “doing well now”. Following the show, several fans reported that the venue was particularly hot that evening. The singer’s team wrote on his Instagram story: “Thank you to everyone who came out to tonight’s show at the Ryman,” adding: “Ray is in good hands with the local EMS and is being treated for heat related dehydration, he is doing well now and is grateful for everyone’s understanding.”

They added that the artist was “looking forward to being onstage in Louisville tomorrow night.” He did return to perform at Louisville Palace on September 6. The shows come as part of LaMontagne’s Trouble 20th Anniversary Tour, which sees him performing his 2004 debut album in full, alongside material from across his catalog. The Weather Station are serving as the support act for all dates.
