Lisa of Blackpink released a brand-new single “SaWaDiKa” along with visuals. It acts as the introduction to the newest era for the artist as we await the release of her EP PRESS PLAY, set to release on October 23rd.
“SaWaDiKa” (the Thai word for “hello”) is an energetic track and shows Lisa returning to the hip-hop sound she has mastered. The electronic beats and thumping drums make for a song with infectious vitality and one that’s hard not to dance to. It’s a confident song with lines like “Championship, they call me the one/whip my shit like it’s a salon/I throw fits like highlight clips/I aim, I hit, blow smoke off the gun.”
With this song and her EP coming out next month, the star will have a wide array of new music to play at her upcoming Viva La Lisa Residency at The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. The sold-out shows will make history, as Lisa is the first-ever K-pop artist to perform a residency at the city and venue. Her performances are set to take place over two weekends: November 13th and 14th and November 27th and 28th.
Lisa also has a forthcoming feature documentary, Always Lalisa, directed by Sue Kim. It will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival next week and be released to theaters worldwide on October 12th.
