Punk rock band Black Flag has just announced that their singer Max Zanelly will be unavailable to perform at their upcoming United States tour. This comes after Zanelly’s complications with her work visa. London Dewey has been called in as her replacement for the 45 tour dates, as reported by Consequence.

​72-year-old Greg Ginn, a founding member of the band and its guitarist, announced a new Gen-Z lineup for the band last year, featuring Zanelly as the lead singer, David Rodriguez as the bassist and Bryce Weston as the drummer. Zanelly was chosen after Ginn saw her perfectly singing along to every word at a Black Flag concert months previously.

​Regarding Zanelly’s absence, the official black Flag social media accounts posted the following statement: “Important notice: Our singer Max Zanelly has hit an issue regarding her work visa. Max is working on resolving the issue, but will not be able to sing on the upcoming tour. For the tour, our friend London Downey has stepped in on vocals. We are grateful for London’s willingness to participate on such short notice. He will do an amazing job. Max is looking forward to seeing everyone soon!” No additional details were provided.

​This brand-new lineup will launch their months-long tour this Thursday (September 3rd) in Aspen, Colorado. They’ll travel all across the country, closing out the tour in Houston, Texas on the first of November.
