The Grammy-nominated metal hardcore band Hatebreed has released their newest single “Fatal Paradox,” the title track off of their upcoming album Fatal Paradox, which will be released on November 5 via their new label BLKIIBLK. The song is described as a “groove-driven anthem with the kind of breakdown that leads to bloody noses, bruised limbs, and broken teeth in the pit.” The song’s official visualizer includes flashing images of security cameras, the American flag, and hands controlling puppet strings, among other subjects. These visuals coincide with the depiction of the song’s lyrics (which discuss topics of societal conflict and abuse of power) surrounded by smoke and flames. The song follows the release of previous singles “Kill Count Increase” and “Make the Demons Obey,” both of which will appear on Fatal Paradox.
Hatebreed has been leaving their mark on the hardcore and metal scenes since the release of their first EP Under the Knife in 1996, dominating the charts with albums such as The Divinity of Purpose (2013) and The Concrete Confessional (2016). The band’s song “Live for This” was nominated for a Grammy for Best Metal Performance in 2004. Fatal Paradox will be the band’s first album since the release of Weight of the False Self in 2020 and will see the Connecticut-born band “operating at full tilt by bludgeoning listeners with a barbarous blend of breakdowns, d-beats and dogpiles.” They have been headlining the Summer Slaughter Tour (which will continue to run through September) this past month and will perform at Furnace Fest in Birmingham, Alabama on October 10.
