Blink-182 have started working on their next studio album, according to drummer Travis Barker.
According to NME, Barker confirmed the news during an appearance on The New York Times’ Popcast. When asked about his current projects, he said, “I’m starting a couple of other projects, like producing projects, working on the next Blink album.”
The drummer was then asked whether the band planned to work on the record this year or wait until 2027. “Working on the Blink album this year,” he replied. Barker did not disclose a possible title, release date or other details about the album.
The upcoming record will follow Blink-182’s 2023 album, One More Time…. The release marked the band’s first full-length album with the lineup of Barker, Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge since Neighborhoods arrived in 2011. Blink-182 later expanded the record with One More Time… Part-2 in 2024.
The band supported the album on tour before heading out on its Missionary Impossible Tour with Alkaline Trio in 2025. Barker also told Popcast that he is producing and playing drums on Alkaline Trio’s next album.
Earlier this year, Blink-182 celebrated the 25th anniversary of Take Off Your Pants and Jacket with a new reissue. The expanded edition of the 2001 album included six bonus tracks.
Barker’s comments arrive alongside the release of his documentary, Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear. Directed by Justin Krook and Michael Dwyer, the film covers Barker’s career and his recovery from the 2008 plane crash that killed four people. Barker suffered third-degree burns across 65 percent of his body and underwent 26 surgeries following the crash.
The documentary premiered at the Tribeca Festival in New York before arriving on Hulu and Disney+ on August 13.
According to mxdwn, Blink-182 recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of Take Off Your Pants and Jacket by releasing an expanded edition containing six tracks that were previously unavailable on streaming services. News of another album suggests the band is also moving forward with new material while revisiting an important release from its past.
