Silvertomb has announced its sophomore album, The Interpretation Of Nightmares, due out November 13 through Steamhammer. The release marks the band’s return after a seven-year hiatus and follows its 2019 debut, Edge Of Existence.
The Brooklyn doom metal group features former Type O Negative and Danzig members Kenny Hickey on vocals and guitar and Johnny Kelly on drums. The lineup also includes guitarist Joe James, bassist Hank Hell and guitarist, keyboardist and vocalist Aaron Joos.
Along with the album announcement, Silvertomb has shared the new single “No Way To Live.” The track is a quicker and more immediate song than some of the album’s slower, brooding material, while still holding onto the band’s dense doom metal sound. Hickey sings about rejection and being left without a way to love, feel or give, making the song a direct expression of pain within a relationship that has reached its end.
The song’s chorus repeats the phrase “no way to live,” emphasizing the feeling of emotional exhaustion. However, the lyrics also suggest a desire to change and begin again despite the rejection. This balance between despair and the need to move forward gives the track its emotional weight.
A music video directed by Tom Flynn accompanies the single. The dark visual serves as a fitting companion to the song’s themes of rejection, isolation and emotional pain.

According to mxdwn, Before returning with The Interpretation Of Nightmares, Silvertomb drummer Johnny Kelly appeared on Two Minutes To Late Night’s 2021 cover of Jefferson Starship’s “Jane.” Kelly performed alongside musicians from Lucifer, Royal Thunder and Black Tusk, showing his involvement in metal projects beyond Silvertomb.
