Morrissey Cancels Las Vegas Residency a Week Before the First Show Because of “Unforeseen Logistical Challenges”

Morrissey has cancelled his four-night residency at the Wynn Las Vegas, which was scheduled to begin next Friday, August 14th. The dates were removed from the venue’s official website and his team cited “unforeseen logistical challenges” as the reason for the cancellation.

This isn’t the first time the former The Smiths frontman has cancelled gigs this year. Back in March, days after he released his 14th solo album and first in six years, Make-up Is a Lie, he cancelled a scheduled tour date in Valencia due to sleep deprivation. He’s also called off shows in St. Petersburg, St. Louis, Atlanta and Florida, as reported by NME.

In other Morrissey news, the singer is scheduled for five arena shows in December of this year with locations in Leeds, Brighton, Liverpool, Glasgow and Cardiff. He also unveiled new merch in July to celebrate two The Smiths albums, Meat Is Murder and The Queen Is Dead, replacing the band’s logo with his name. He’s recently also accused the BBC of blacklisting his single “Notre-Dame” because they suspected it of “independent thought.”
