Chris Stapleton and The Smashing Pumpkins are set to headline “America’s Block Party” with Queen Latifah serving as host at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Saturday, July 4th. This is a landmark Independence Day concert marking the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

This concert is presented by America 250, the only national and nonpartisan organization that has been charged by Congress to help lead the commemoration of the nation’s Semiquincentennial. The Los Angeles show will serve as the West Coast anchor of a nationwide, sea-to-shining-sea celebration. Even more, the show will launch Giving 4th, a new America250 initiative that aims to turn July 4th into a national day of generosity which calls on all Americans to pledge support to a nonprofit or cause they care about. America 250 is collaborating with GivingTuesday, the global generosity movement, to track this impact. Additional performers are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

The Los Angeles event specifically has been built as the centerpiece of Giving 4th, connecting the West Coast to a celebration that begins on the East Coast with the July 3rd Bball Drop at One Times Square. Other America’s Block Party locations will include Summerfest in Milwaukee, the Fort Campbell Festival in Kentucky, and SC250 in Charleston, with future announcements for Boston and Philadelphia on the way. As host, Queen Latifah will guide the audience through the night, connecting the performances with stories of impact and moments of national pride.

The headliners are only just the beginning of the celebration. The day is designed as a full-scale experience. A pre-event Block Party Village, which features music, giveaways, and free food and drinks, will be open to ticket holders at 3 p.m. PDT, with the live concert beginning at 6 p.m. PDT and culminating in a fireworks and drone spectacular. The bill pairs one of country and roots music’s most decorated voices in Chris Stapleton with alternative-rock mainstays The Smashing Pumpkins.

How To Get Tickets To America’s Block Party

Tickets will go on sale June 16 at 10 a.m. PDT at America250.org/LA. They will be priced at $17.76, a nod to the year 1776, with all proceeds after fees donated to Feeding America. 5,000 additional complimentary tickets will be donated to first responders, veterans, and active-duty service members, claimable through VetTix. Fans can also download the official America250 app to find a block party near them, access the livestream, and participate in Giving 4th.
