Tommy Lee has announced Tommyland Rides Again, a reimagined version of his 2005 solo album Tommyland: The Ride, set for release on May 22 via BMG. The project is essentially a rebuilt edition of the original record, newly mixed in Dolby Atmos with Smiley Sean at Lee’s own studio, aiming to give the songs a fuller, more detailed sound than what was technically possible when they first came out. It also marks the first time the album will be available on streaming platforms.
The rollout includes an updated version of “Good Times” featuring Butch Walker, along with an HD-upscaled version of its original music video. The track isn’t new, it was the lead single from the 2005 album and served as the theme for Tommy Lee Goes to College but it’s being reintroduced here as part of the album’s updated presentation.
In addition to the refreshed material, Tommyland Rides Again adds a new bonus track titled “Stupid World” featuring Chad Tepper, expanding the original tracklist with something contemporary. The original Tommyland: The Ride was tied closely to Lee’s book and TV series and featured a wide range of collaborators across rock and pop, including artists like Chad Kroeger, Joel Madden and Nick Carter. With this reissue, the structure of that album stays the same, but the focus is on updated sound quality and accessibility rather than changing the core material. Overall, this release is less about reinventing the music itself and more about representing it, bringing an older project into current formats and audio standards while adding a small amount of new content.
