Lily Allen is bringing a taste of the West End to San Francisco this spring. Known for her deeply personal lyrics, Allen’s latest album, “West End Girl,” lyrics dives deep into Allen’s personal life.
Allen reached commercial success in 2006 with her song “Smile.” The hit went number one in the UK and even achieved triple platinum status. With the success, Allen went on to release her debut album, “Alright, Still,” and earned her a GRAMMY® for Best Alternative Music Album. In addition, Allen has also earned nine BRIT nominations over the past few years.
After her debut, Allen would go on to release four more studio albums, cultivating her dedicated and loyal fan base. This newest album, Allen’s first in seven years, is titled “West End Girl”; Allen writes about topics of love and marriage as Allen’s public divorce from actor David Harbour was made known last year.
In the title track, Allen sings, “I said, ‘I got some good news, I got the lead in a play’/ That’s when your demeanor started to change.” Through her witty and confessional lyrics, Allen is sure to have an engaging performance for fans.
