Bright Eyes announce anniversary concerts for I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning and Digital Ash in a Digital Urn. To celebrate 21 years of their back-to-back albums, the band will be performing at the Hollywood Bowl on Saturday, May 23rd.
Conor Oberst, Mike Mogis, and Nathaniel Walcott announced they will perform the two albums in full during headlining shows at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl, and New York’s Forest Hills Stadium. Tilly and the Wall, the Moldy Peaches, and Built to Spill are slated to trade off as support acts for the shows. Bright Eyes will be playing the two albums in full, they plan to split their set in half, with an “opener” performing at the midpoint each night. The Moldy Peaches will be the supporting guest for the Hollywood Bowl show.
Bright Eyes has partnered with PLUS1 so that $1 per ticket goes to supporting the Poison Oak Project, and their work advancing equity for LGBTQ+ people, with a particular focus on supporting the trans community. A portion of each ticket will support the LA County Parks Foundation in restoring damage to parks from the recent Los Angeles wildfires.
In 2024, Bright Eyes released Five Dice, All Threes, their eleventh studio album, which featured contributions from Cat Power, the National’s Matt Berninger, and the So So Glos’ Alex Orange Drink. They followed it up with this year’s Kids Table EP, an eight-song collection that includes two tracks with Hurray for the Riff Raff’s Alynda Segarra, who the band brought on tour this year.
