Academy Award nominee Brandi Carlile’s Human Tour is coming to the Big Apple. The tour is in support of Carlile’s album Return to Myself, which was released in October of this year. The folk singer-songwriter gained early recognition with her song “The Story” from her 2007 album of the same name. “The Story” resonated with fans as it describes finding a place to belong and the importance of found family. The hit single skyrocketed her to fame after being featured on Grey’s Anatomy. With continued touring and dedication, she built an adoring fanbase.
In 2019, she won a Grammy for her song “The Joke” for Best Roots Song and Performance. Carlile’s lyrical takes are emotionally driven and create an undeniable sense of belonging. Return to Myself has proven to be another facet in her journey of belonging. The album is about coming back to oneself and staying grounded in one’s authentic self.
