According to Stereogum.com, Sunday night’s Chair Company episode was especially chaotic, funny and it ended with Aimee Mann singing the Carpenters’ 1971 hit, “Rainy Days And Mondays.” Years ago, the artist wrote the songs for a stage adaptation of Girl, Interrupted and people just learned that the play will finally debut next year.
Mann’s take on “Rainy Days And Mondays” is excellent by how the composition is as sharp and crystalline as some people might expect and it is already out on streaming services. The ditty seems like Mann has recorded this specifically for The Chair Company, although it would make sense in Magnolia, which is an extremely rainy movie. The whole music vibe is fabulous by how the artist brings a deeper human that is filled with endless melodies and harmonies.
